One word of caution: If you are researching LTC and even LTCi (Long-Term Care insurance) it is very easy to become overwhelmed with information. There are plenty of sources of advice and statistics out there, both accurate AND inaccurate. The danger for many of us is that too much information can lead to inaction. I have met people that have collected quotes, weighed their options and became experts on Long-Term Care but then never got around to preparing for it. Years later, when they needed care, all they had was the regret of never actually doing something. That is the biggest mistake you can possibly make when it comes to your future. Whatever plan you decide on, HAVE A PLAN and act on it. For some that may be insurance, for some it may not. The point is KNOW what you will do and what your family will do when Long Term Care enters your lives.

The good news (and the bad news) is that Americans are living longer. Healthcare is more advanced than ever, longevity is still increasing and so are the related costs. Living longer means we need to prepare for events that previous generations had little reason to be concerned with. Families are spread out, mothers work outside the home and the government has made its intentions clear.

These are some of the reasons I have designed this website. I have attempted to scratch the surface and answer some basic questions many of my clients ask me regarding Long-Term Care and preparing for it.
